The Safeguard iOS app 2.0 is a companion to the Safeguard platform for iPhone and iPad. Per its App Store listing, it shows your organization's security posture, lets you review findings with reachability evidence and tracks remediation of fixes made by Griffin AI. It is free and needs a Safeguard account.

What is it for?

The listing calls it a companion app. It is not a separate product. It is a phone and tablet window onto the same Safeguard platform you use on the web at app.safeguard.sh.

What can you do in it?

Three jobs are named in the listing description:

  • See the organization's security posture.
  • Review findings with reachability evidence. The listing says the platform uses call graph reachability analysis to filter out vulnerabilities that cannot be exploited.
  • Track the remediation of fixes made by Griffin AI.

The listing also mentions autonomous fix generation, zero day detection, continuous SBOMs, compliance evidence mapping and MCP tools for AI agents, as platform capabilities. It names regulated sectors such as financial services, healthcare, defense and federal contracting as its audience.

What is new in 2.0.3?

The version notes say 2.0.3 fixes a launch crash on iPad and iPhone with iOS 27. They also introduce features that the workspace administrator must enable: Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Live Activities, QR code device approval, a Safari extension and Siri support. Because these need admin enablement, what you see may differ by workspace.

What does it need?

  • iPhone with iOS 16.4 or later, or iPad with iPadOS 16.4 or later.
  • A Safeguard account.
  • Free, 72.4 MB, English, rated 4+, from Safeguard.sh Inc.

What does the privacy label say?

The developer states it does not collect any data from the app. Apple has not verified that label, and the listing says so.

Where do I get it?

From the App Store, via the iOS link on safeguard.sh/download. The page calls it iOS 2.0, for iPhone and iPad.

What it is not

It is not described as a scanner you run on a repository, or a replacement for the web app. Use it to review and follow up.

How does it fit with the rest of Safeguard?

The listing lists the web app's strengths as platform capabilities, so the phone is the place to look and follow up, not the place where the work is configured. Setup, scanning and policy still happen in the web app, the CLI and your pipeline.

What to do

  1. Install from the official link and sign in.
  2. Open a finding and read its reachability evidence.
  3. Ask your admin which of the 2.0.3 features are on.
  4. Keep the app updated, since 2.0.3 fixed a crash on iOS 27.

Quick check

Does the iOS app work on iPad?

Yes. The listing and the download page both say iPhone and iPad.

Can I use the app without a Safeguard account?

No. The listing says an account is required.
