Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: June 2026

Our commitment

Safeguard is committed to making safeguard.sh usable for as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as part of building a product people can trust, not a checkbox.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and is the reference standard for the EU Web Accessibility Directive, the European Accessibility Act, and Section 508 in the United States.

The site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: most of the site meets the standard, and we are actively working to close the gaps described below.

What we have done

  • Semantic landmarks, a “skip to content” link, and a single, ordered heading structure on each page.
  • Visible keyboard focus styles and keyboard operability for navigation, dialogs, and the assistant.
  • Respect for the prefers-reduced-motion setting, so animations are dialled back for visitors who ask for it.
  • Colour choices and a dark mode chosen with contrast in mind, plus text that scales with browser zoom.
  • Alt text on meaningful images and accessible names on icon-only controls.

Known limitations

We would rather be honest than claim full conformance. Areas we are still improving:

  • Some complex data tables and comparison matrices may not yet expose an ideal reading order to every screen reader.
  • A few animated diagrams convey information visually that we are working to also present as text.
  • Third-party embeds (for example, scheduling and forms) are governed by their vendors' accessibility, which we monitor but do not fully control.

Feedback

If you hit an accessibility barrier on safeguard.sh, please tell us — we treat these reports as bugs. Email hi@safeguard.sh with the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days and will work with you on an alternative way to get what you need in the meantime.
