The Safeguard Safari extension for iPhone and iPad is included in the Safeguard iOS app. Install the app from the App Store, then open Settings, Apps, Safari, Extensions and switch Safeguard on. On versions before iOS 18, the path is Settings, Safari, Extensions.

Why do I install an app to get a Safari extension?

On iPhone and iPad, Safari extensions are delivered inside an app. The download page says the Safari extension is "included in the Safeguard.sh iOS app", so there is no separate store listing to look for. Install the app and the extension comes with it.

Step by step

  1. Open the App Store and search for Safeguard.sh, or follow the iOS link on safeguard.sh/download. The developer name on the listing is Safeguard.sh Inc.
  2. Install the app. It works on iPhone and iPad and is free per the listing.
  3. Open the app once and sign in with your Safeguard account. A Safeguard account is required.
  4. Leave the app and open Settings.
  5. On iOS 18 or later, go to Apps, then Safari, then Extensions. On earlier versions, go to Safari, then Extensions.
  6. Find Safeguard in the list and switch it on.
  7. Open Safari and confirm the extension is available.

What if the extension does not appear?

Work through these in order. Is the app actually installed and opened once? Is your device on a version the listing supports, iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later? Are you looking in the right Settings path for your iOS version? On the App Store listing, version notes for 2.0.3 say several features must be enabled by the workspace administrator, and the Safari extension is in that list. If the toggle is missing or inactive, ask your Safeguard admin whether it is switched on for your workspace.

Which device version matters?

The App Store listing gives iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 as the minimum. The 2.0.3 update fixed a launch crash on iOS 27, so keep the app updated.

What the extension does once on

We cannot describe screens or actions the extension performs, because the pages we reviewed do not describe them. They say where to get it and how to switch it on. For the behavior of the extension itself, check the app after enabling, and ask Safeguard for documentation.

Does it work on both iPhone and iPad?

The download page covers iPhone and iPad together and gives the same two Settings paths for both, split by iOS version. The app itself is listed for both devices. We did not find any statement of different behavior between them.

What to do

  1. Install the iOS app from the official link.
  2. Sign in once in the app.
  3. Enable the extension in the right Settings path for your iOS version.
  4. If it is missing, ask your workspace admin.
  5. Keep the app updated.

Quick check

Is there a separate Safari extension in the App Store?

No. The download page says the Safari extension is included in the Safeguard.sh iOS app.

Where is the Safari extension setting on iOS 18?

Settings, Apps, Safari, Extensions. Before iOS 18 it is Settings, Safari, Extensions.
