Moving from an individual AI plan to a team or enterprise plan changes four things: how you are billed, what limits apply, what admin controls you get, and what the data terms say. This post lists what Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and Mistral publish on those four points, as fetched on 18 October 2026. Where a vendor does not publish a detail, we say so.
Seat prices and billing shape
| Vendor | Team or Business | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic | Team standard seat $20 a month on annual billing ($25 monthly), premium seat $100 ($125 monthly), for teams of 2 to 150 | $20 a seat a month billed annually, 20 seat minimum, annual commitment, with usage billed on top at API rates |
| OpenAI | Business $20 per user a month on annual billing, $25 monthly, 2 or more users | Contact sales. Plans with flexible pricing have no fixed rate limits and usage scales with credits |
| Mistral | Team $24.99 per user a month | Contact us |
| Not covered here: the Workspace page we fetched showed prices in INR only, so we do not quote them | Contact sales |
The notable shape is Anthropic's Enterprise: a seat fee plus API rate usage means the seat is an access fee, and the token bill is the same as the API list price. OpenAI's flexible Enterprise pricing is described in credits, and its Codex pricing page lists credit rates per million tokens for some models.
Limits
On Anthropic's Team plan, standard seats get more usage than Pro and premium seats get 5x a standard seat. Its Enterprise page says "Usage limits apply." OpenAI's page says Enterprise plans with flexible pricing have no fixed rate limits. Neither vendor publishes token amounts for team seats on the pages we fetched.
Admin controls
Anthropic's Enterprise page lists SSO with domain capture, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, OpenTelemetry monitoring, a Compliance API, usage analytics, spend controls, role based access control, custom data retention and IP allowlisting, and marks some of these Enterprise only.
OpenAI's Codex pricing page lists shared workspace, admin controls, SAML SSO and MFA for Business, and priority processing, SCIM, EKM, RBAC, Compliance API and retention and residency controls for Enterprise and Edu. Mistral lists custom models, audit logs and SAML SSO for Enterprise.
Data terms
Anthropic's Enterprise page says that by default prompts, data and results are not used to train its models. Google's Gemini API pricing page says free tier content may be used to improve Google's products. We did not fetch every vendor's paid API terms, so read each one before you send source code.
Data residency costs extra
The API pages list residency uplifts. OpenAI lists a 10 percent uplift for regional processing on eligible models released on or after 5 March 2026, and 10 percent for FedRAMP endpoints. Anthropic lists a 1.1x multiplier when you set US only inference on Claude 4.6 and later models. A residency requirement therefore changes your token bill, not only your seat fee.
Try it yourself
Write down for your team: seat count, whether you need SSO or audit logs, whether you have a residency or retention requirement, and the monthly API list price of your sessions from our session estimator. A requirement for SSO or audit logs may decide the plan before price does.
Safeguard lets you bring your own model, and its MCP tool calls are unlimited, so the plan you pick for the model does not change the tool side.
Quick check
On Anthropic's Enterprise plan, what does the $20 seat fee cover?
Access. Usage is billed on top at API rates, with usage limits still applying.
