A phone is good for a quick decision. A laptop is good for deep work. A tablet sits between them, and for a lot of security tasks that is the right size. Safeguard is available on iPad, through the iOS app that the App Store lists for iPhone and iPad.
What it is
The same Safeguard account and the same data you see in the web app, on a larger touch screen. Safeguard is chat first, so you can ask a question, open a finding or look at a dashboard without needing a keyboard shortcut or a mouse. Android tablets are covered too, since the Google Play listing is for phones and tablets.
Where a tablet helps
- Reviewing findings. A finding with its dependency path, reachability verdict and suggested fix is easier to read on a bigger screen than a phone.
- Triage in a meeting. Bring the open critical items to a weekly review and decide on each one together, without opening a laptop.
- Approvals. When an agent or a workflow waits for a person, a tablet is a comfortable place to read the context and decide.
- Reading dashboards. Trend lines, remediation times and coverage fit a tablet better than a phone.
- Questionnaires and evidence. Reading a draft answer next to its source evidence is easier with more space.
Why it matters
Decisions get made where people are. If security data only fits a desk, it is only used at a desk. A tablet brings it into stand ups, boardrooms and on site visits, which is where the questions often come from.
Example
A CISO walks into a weekly review with a tablet, opens the list of reachable critical findings, and asks Safeguard for the owner of each. The owners are named, the decisions are taken in the room, and the follow up is assigned before anyone leaves.
How to start
- Install the app from the App Store on the iPad and sign in.
- Open the findings you care about and pin the questions you ask most.
- Use the web app in the tablet browser for anything long, such as editing a policy.
